Upcoming Comfort Book Club Reads

The Comfort Book Club now runs in the autumn, September-December, in celebration of ‘cosy season.’

Discussion of the books generally take place on the last Sunday of each month (December is an exception to this).

Here’s the list of books we’ll be discussing for Autumn 2025:

September

  • The Railway Children by E Nesbit. A childhood classic. Discussion video will be posted on: Sunday, 28th September 2025.

October

  • Sleeping Murder by Agatha Christie. One of my favourite ‘cosy crime’ novels, featuring the inimitable Miss Marple. Discussion video will be posted on: Sunday, 26th October 2025.

November

  • The Places of Tides by James Rebanks. A thought-provoking ode to the restorative power of nature and human connection. Discussion video will be posted on: Sunday, 30th November 2025

December

  • No Holly for Miss Quinn by Miss Read. Our favourite of the Miss Read Christmas stories (you can find copies of it secondhand, or it’s included in this Miss Read collection). Discussion video will be posted on: Sunday, 21st December 2025

If you enjoy a particular Comfort Book Club read and would like to contribute your thoughts on it to our discussion video, please email your comment to info@mirandasnotebook.com (putting The Comfort Book Club in the subject header). Don’t send your comments as an attachment - type them within the email. Mum and I will then read aloud any comments at the end of our discussion of the book. Make sure your comments are sent in 5 days before the book discussion date.

Mum and I look forward to reading along with you and getting cosy with our Comfort Book Club choices for this autumn.
