I can’t remember how I first heard about this children’s picture book, which is inspired by a very young Julia Child, but I’m so glad that I ordered it on an impulse. The book is utterly charming, telling the story of a girl called Julia’s fascination with food and experiments in cooking French cuisine. It is a celebration of childhood, as much as the art of good eating, and can most certainly be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Aren’t the illustrations by Julie Morstad fabulous too?
