Quote of the week: ‘Life, within doors, has few pleasanter prospects than a neatly-arranged and well-provisioned breakfast-table.’ ― Nathaniel Hawthorne
Happy Friday! This week has simply flown by for me, and I’m having a lovely start to the weekend as my Dad has arrived from New York for an extended visit.
As always, here are 3 things for which I’ve been grateful this week:
1/ A good breakfast spread. It’s becoming a tradition that I make brunch on the first morning my dad arrives for a visit (remember this – one of the very first! – post?). It’s rather a fun one! This time, I kept it pretty simple with homemade blueberry muffins, smoked salmon, cream cheese and onion bagels, fruit salad and Buck’s fizz. Yum!
2/ Cinema outings. To me, summertime always means trips to the movies, and I had a lot of fun on Thursday seeing the latest Mission Impossible film with a friend at the BFI Imax.
3/ Emails from readers! I’ve had some lovely emails from readers this week, one of which even included a brilliant family photograph (you know who you are!). It strikes me that you all know a lot about me – and what I look like! – but often I don’t know much about you, and it was really lovely to be able to put a face to a name. I’m so grateful to everyone who takes the time to read this blog, and am always touched when someone troubles to leave a comment or send an email. So here’s a big THANK YOU to MN readers – I’m very thankful for you all!
I am going to be taking a blogging break from now until 2nd September, as I’ll be busy spending time with Dad as well as a few other things… I will still be on Instagram though if you want to keep in touch. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the month, and I’ll see you in September!
