Friday’s Gratitude List #40

Tate Britain | Miranda's Notebook{Looking down from the Members Room at Tate Britain}

Quote of the week: ‘One of the mysteries is how the human mind can hear a piece of music, a symphony from the beginning to the end, before beginning; or see a sculpture finished all the way round, when it doesn’t exist.’ – Barbara Hepworth

Happy Friday! How has your week been? I hope you’ve had a lovely one! Besides work, I’ve managed to fit quite a bit of fun into this week too. Here’s my list for the top three things I’ve been grateful for this week:

1/ Instagram. I’ve been really appreciating the world of instagram this week! I got to attend a great instagram masterclass on Tuesday, and I’ve been truly valuing a lot of the connections I’ve made through the instagram community. It really is the best!

2/ Interviewing the lovely Alice Stevenson. I first connected with Alice through instagram (of course), although I’ve been an admirer of her work for much longer than I’ve been on social media (she illustrated The Wonderful Weekend Book, a real favourite of mine). Alice is the writer and illustrator of the recently published Ways to Walk in London, which I read a few months ago and loved. Alice offers such a unique perspective on London, and reading her book has made me want to explore so many new-to-me areas and take to the pavements much more. In person, Alice is absolutely lovely and we had such a fun time seeing the Barbara Hepworth exhibition at Tate Britain, before having a chat in the beautiful Members Room.

3/ A surprise flower delivery. I was so excited this morning when I answered the door to receive a gorgeous Bloom & Wild flower delivery from my exceedingly lovely friend Polly. There’s really nothing nicer than getting a surprise bouquet, is there?!

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone! What are your plans? I’ve got some things set up for tomorrow, but I’m also allowing for a little spontaneity which should be fun.
