Cressida Bell’s Open Studio

I had a wonderful time last week at Cressida Bell’s open studio. Something about cold weather always makes me want to dress like a Tolstoy heroine, so I wrapped myself up in my wonderfully cosy new faux fur hat, a wool knit dress and a thick coat and got the train to Hackney Central. East London is well known for being home to many artists, but this was the first time I got to see inside a London artist’s studio, so I was pretty excited.

Cressida’s studio didn’t disappoint. On entering, I was greeted by the cheerful presence of a twinkling Christmas tree and a glass of wine and then was left to rummage amongst the beautiful silk scarves, cushions, lamps and Christmas cards. I stocked up on some gorgeous cards (which I can’t wait to send off to friends and family this week) and treated myself to a stunning red and blue scarf. The scarves were seconds and as such were discounted, but I could barely tell the difference with mine so was thrilled to get such a gorgeous new accessory for a great price.

I was so pleased I was able to get a photo with Cressida. She was such a charming and down to earth person, it was a pleasure to meet her, and I can’t wait to go back for more open studios in the future!

Outfit Details (I like to call this my ‘Russian Princess’ look):

{Helen Moore hat (I bought it in Anthropologie, but online they only have the white version left); Sportmax dress (similar here); Holland & Holland coat (this is a cute alternative); vintage Chanel bag; vintage necklace; L.K. Bennett ankle boots (now on sale); Cressida Bell scarf}

I’m thrilled to announce the winner of my Chanel Skincare Giveaway. Thanks very much to all who entered – I’m sorry you couldn’t all win! I drew names out of a hat this evening, and I’m excited to say the winner is is the stunning Eva of the blog Glamazon. Congratulations, Eva!
